We greet Newroz*, the struggle day of the people against imperialism and its collaborators

    We are passing through days in which the government is approving a programme of treachery, a new letter of intent is being prepared and the riches of Turkey are being put up for sale together with the values created by the labour.
    The government, completely alienated to its country as long as its people has imported and appointed a technocrat as a minister who had served US and the other imperialists for 25 years and now they are trying to brdoadcast the illusion of coming over the crisis with this minister.
    A worse version of the IMF programme which was applied in our country for two years as long as in many other countries is being prepared. More and more sacrifices are currently being demanded from the labourer classes under tha name of urgent measures.
    The capitalist system and the administrators of it are using lies and violence with the helplessnes of approaching to their end and they are using their last trumps by pointing out the IMF, the foreigner powers and surrendering them is the only way of survival and expecting the people to stand poverty The ones that are trying to administrate in spite of the opposition of millions of labourers for satisfying a handfull of looters and monopolist gang of theives plundering national riches have no idea about near future of us.
    What the people know is the things are not going on their way and the country will not recover from corruption and poverty as long as these programmes are applied. For this reason, nobody believes that the country which is brought to state of bankruptcy by giving everything to find money and shamefully loosing its values, can recover with dependency and the policies of seeking opportunuties in the crisis. The plan of integrating with EU is transformed into means of calming down the anger against this order and especially creating new expectations in the minds of Kurdish labourers. It should be understood that EU Programme will bring new expenses in stead of improvements, because it aims to work in accordance with the programme of IMF.
    Democracy doesn't begin or end with Europe. We have witnessed that so called arrangements claimed to have been made for democratisation haven't created any changes along democracy in the life of the people. It is obvious that the governments are not sincere in their promises of democratisation. Therefore the so called «National Programme» declared for integration with EU is not persuasive either.
    Sooner or later, the democracy struggle, given by our people, the workers and the labourers for years will be succesfull. The democratical rights will be gained as the achievement of our people's demands for which they have been struggling long.
    The disloyalty of such understanding of administrators to democracy is obvious as it cannot stand even the name of Newroz a special date standing in the history of the people as a proggressive element of their struggles and cultures, seizing communiques including the word Newroz, banning the mass meetings.
    The labourers of our country, entering the 2001 Newroz Festival under such conditions, are developping their feelings of brotherhood and solidarity between themselves and with the labourers of the world, they are taking action in order to break the chain of despotism and slavery. The united forces of the labour, defending the national programme of the labour and determinism for struggle as a way of solution against the dependency and exploitation programme forced by the imperialism will rise the struggle of real national independence, democracy and social liberation more higher in Newroz.

    Long live the brotherhood of people!

    Newroz* : (21^st of March) A very special and important festival day for Kurdish people. A tradition of hundreds of years that symbolize the struggle of the poor and oppressed against injustice. The word Newroz means new day.
